Call for Volunteers

The first time I wrote the blog for the volunteer call out 10 years ago, I remember beginning it by asking people to imagine “glitter cannons firing”. I felt so excited to meet the group of volunteers who would be helping bring my first festival to life.

A decade later, and heading into our 20th edition, that feeling hasn’t changed. I am still incredibly excited to see who will be joining us this May to help pull off nine days of jam-packed, film-based fun.

So… Cue the fireworks, release the unicorns... the volunteer call-out is officially open!

Who are We Looking for?

Flatpack simply doesn’t happen without our volunteers. Whether you’re scanning a ticket, helping a guest find a venue, or gathering vital feedback, you are the welcoming face of the festival. We’re looking for people who can share their enthusiasm with our audiences and help make our 20th festival the best one yet.

Volunteers must be 18+ years old, and you must be able to work a minimum of 3 shifts during the festival (8 - 16 May). Shifts can take place mornings/afternoons/evenings or a mixture of these times.

Roles

We have a few different ways you can get involved:

• Colour Box Support - events for children/families
• Front of House Support - ticket sales and customer queries
• Venue Coordinator - a bit more responsibility - front of house, volunteers and venue support
• Evaluation Support - back office support, survey inputting
