Flatpack Festival 2027: Submissions Open

Submit your short film to Flatpack Festival (4-9 May 2027).

We're now accepting all types and genres of short films to be considered for the 2027 Flatpack Festival programme. We are a BAFTA Qualifying Festival, so not only will successful submissions earn a place in our shorts programme - they could also go on to win a BAFTA.

What can I submit?

Films need to be completed after January 2025 and must be under 20 minutes long.

How do I submit?

We use the platform FilmFreeway - just scroll to the bottom of this page and click the big ol’ FilmFreeway button.

Is there a cost?

Submission fees for films over 5 minutes (and under 20) are $30 before 1 November and $38 after or $23/30 for Film Freeway Gold Members;

Submission fees for films under 5 mins fall under our Short Short category and are $13 before 14 December and $20 after or $10/14 for Film Freeway Gold Members;

Are there cash prizes?

Yes indeed. We have four cash prizes ranging from £300 to £1,000.

When do I need to submit by?

Earlybird deadline is 11:59pm, Sunday 1 November 2026 and the final deadline is 11:59pm, Sunday 17 January 2027.
