Ahsan Sayeed
My name is Ahsan Sayeed, and I’m a photographer and filmmaker. I volunteered for Birmingham 68 because I get bored of capturing weddings all the time, and instead wanted to leave my mark in history and in the arts. I think learning and understanding individual stories of history is vital in drawing out a better appreciation of the struggles and the battles people have faced, which has certainly been the case for me. Through this project, I’ve met some incredible people who have changed the course of the future, which I’ve enjoyed. I think it has also helped me to appreciate how rich a place Birmingham truly is, and how often people overlook this beautiful city. The most exciting part of Birmingham 68 has definitely been reliving history through people’s personal stories.
