Deep Soup

Wednesday 13th May, 2026

Pan-Pan | 18:15 - 19:00

In a world increasingly steered by frictionless digital existence, post-humanist artists Luna Maurer and Roel Wouters are attempting to turn the tide.

Deep Soup is both a participatory film and a physical intelligence model that challenges the way AI interprets our lives by learning from matter instead of data.

The project features a green physical intelligence - a soup trained on thousands of clips contributed by people from across the globe. These aren’t videos of people, but of matter in motion: breaking, rolling, sinking, floating, and falling.

Get involved

DEEP SOUP is a participatory film: an open invitation for everyone to capture our material world on camera — not people, but solely matter, movement, and gravity. The challenge is to look at physicality with fresh eyes. What does rolling look like? How can you capture weight, friction, or balance with your camera?

Participants can upload their videos to the website deepsoup.io, where they will contribute to the training of a physical intelligence model. This evolving non-human intelligence will later present itself in DEEP SOUP the film, incorporating the participants’ contributions. The final outcome will be screened during Flatpack Festival on Wednesday 13 May.
