Venues

Botanical Gardens

Access: Level access through the gift shop leads to tarmac paths and the main glasshouses. While most areas are step-free, some garden slopes are steep and may require assistance for manual chairs.
Facilities: An accessible toilet is available on-site. Indoor seating in the tea rooms features chairs with back support. Lighting is primarily natural daylight.
Assistance Dogs: Welcome across the entire 15-acre site.
Transport: Served by buses 23 and 24.
Parking: On-site car park (register your car at reception for free parking). Dedicated Blue Badge Parking available near entrance.

Brig Café

Address: The Warehouse, 54-57 Allison St, Birmingham B5 5TH.
Access: Located at street level with a wide, level entrance. The interior is spacious and flat, making it easy to move between tables.
Facilities: An accessible toilet is available on-site. Seating is a mix of cafe-style chairs and tables. The space is generally bright with natural light from the front windows. Baby changing facilities available.
Transport: Well-served by major bus routes including the 16, 16A, 17, X21, X22, 60, 61, 82, and 87. It is also a short 5-minute walk from Moor Street Station.
Parking: There is no on-site parking, but several private pay-and-display car parks are available nearby in Digbeth.

The Comedy Bus

Access: This mobile venue is equipped with a mobile ramp or lift to allow wheelchair users onto the lower deck. The upper deck is accessible via a narrow staircase only.
Facilities: No on-site toilet. Seating is fixed bus-style with back support. Lighting is typical bus LEDs.
Assistance Dogs: Welcome on the lower deck where there is floor space to settle. Transport: Specific drop-off/pick-up points will be shared for each event.

Crick Community Gardens

Address: 102 Handsworth Wood Rd, Birmingham B20 2PL.
Access: A community-led garden with level access through the gate. Most of the space is grass and soil paths; while generally flat, the ground can be a little bumpy for some smaller-wheeled chairs.
Facilities: There are no accessible toilets on-site. Lighting is provided by natural daylight. Seating is rustic, consisting of wooden benches and some portable chairs brought in for the festival.
Transport: Served by the 16, 16A, and 52 bus routes.
Parking: Street parking is available in the surrounding residential roads.

The Edge

Address: 79-81 Cheapside, B12 0PT.
Access: A converted industrial warehouse with a dedicated level-access entrance and a fully accessible ground-floor toilet. The interior is flat and open, providing plenty of room for maneuverability. Sound can echo due to high ceilings, but we use soft drapes to help muffle the noise.
Facilities: Seating is a mix of folding chairs and some sofas. Lighting is a combination of warm lamps and overhead industrial lights.
Transport: A 10-minute walk from Digbeth Coach Station and served by the 50 bus.
Parking: No on-site parking, but street parking is available on Cheapside.

Festival Hub at Secret Space

Address: 30-34 River Street, Deritend, Digbeth, Birmingham, B5 5SA
Access: A ground-floor industrial venue with three open rooms and level floors. There is a small step at the entrance, so our team provides a mobile ramp for anyone who needs it—just let us know on arrival.
Facilities: Accessible portable toilets are provided on-site. The space has an industrial vibe and can be drafty, so we recommend a warm layer! We provide chairs with back support.
Assistance Dogs: Very welcome; the open layout is roomy, though the acoustics can be echoey.
Transport: A 10-minute walk from Digbeth Coach Station and the 50 bus.
Parking: On-street or private pay-and-display parking throughout Digbeth.

Grosvenor Road Studios and Community Garden

Address: 16 Grosvenor Road, Birchfield, B20 3NP.
Access: This is a historic recording studio. While the Community Garden has level access via a side gate, the Main Studio itself is not wheelchair accessible due to its internal layout and several sets of stairs.
Facilities: There are no accessible toilets within the studio building. Professional studio lighting is used throughout, and seating consists of individual chairs with back support.
Transport: Accessible via the 16, 16A, and 52 bus routes.
Parking: There is a small on-site car park at the front of the studios.

Handsworth Community Gardens. Sons of Rest Building

Address: Handsworth Park, Birmingham B20 2BY.
Access: Located within the park, the Sons of Rest building has a level entrance and a flat interior. It is a quiet, community-focused space with large windows looking out over the greenery.
Facilities: An accessible toilet is available on-site. Seating consists of sturdy chairs with back support, and the lighting is a mix of natural light and standard overhead bulbs.
Assistance Dogs: Assistance dogs are very welcome and will appreciate the easy access to the surrounding parkland.
Transport: Served by the 11A, 11C, and 16 bus routes.
Parking: Limited street parking is available near the park entrances.

The Hop Garden

Address: 19 Metchley Lane, Harborne, B17 0HT.
Access: This is a traditional pub with a tiered garden. Unfortunately, the venue is not wheelchair accessible as the bar area is raised and the garden levels are connected by steps.
Facilities: There are no accessible toilets on-site. Seating is a mix of fixed pub benches and individual chairs.
Assistance Dogs: Assistance dogs are welcome in the garden, though please navigate with care as the terrain is tiered.
Transport: Well-served by the 11A, 11C, and 76 bus routes.
Parking: There is no on-site car park, but street parking is available in the surrounding residential roads.

Library of Birmingham

Address: Centenary Square, B1 2ND.
Access: This building is fully accessible via wide automatic doors and large internal lifts with voice announcements. The space is bright and modern with high ceilings and a mix of natural and overhead LED light.
Facilities: Accessible toilets are available on-site, including a full Changing Places facility. A hearing loop is installed, and seating includes firm benches and chairs with back support.
Assistance Dogs: Very welcome; there is plenty of floor space in the wide foyers to settle.
Transport: A 2-minute walk from the Library tram stop and major Broad Street bus routes.
Parking: Secure parking is available at the nearby Q-Park Brindleyplace.

MAC (Midlands Arts Centre)

Address: Cannon Hill Park, B12 9QH.
Access: A purpose-built, level-access arts centre. The Cinema, Foyle, and Theatre spaces are all easily reached via spacious lifts. The building features excellent acoustics and clear, bright lighting.
Facilities: Accessible toilets and changing facilities are available. There is a dedicated Quiet Room on the ground floor, and seating ranges from plush theatre chairs to flexible cafe furniture.
Assistance Dogs: Warmly welcomed, with the surrounding park offering plenty of green space for breaks.
Transport: Served by the 1, 35, 45, and 47 buses.
Parking: Large on-site car park with several dedicated Blue Badge bays near the entrance.

The Mockingbird

Address: The Custard Factory, Gibb Street, B9 4AA.
Access: Step-free access is available to both screens. The atmosphere is relaxed and dimly lit.
Facilities: Screen 1 has a nearby accessible toilet.
Please note: Screen 2 does not have access to an accessible toilet. Seating is padded with good back support.
Assistance Dogs: Welcome to sit with you in the screen.
Transport: Near the 50 bus and Digbeth Coach Station.
Parking: Private parking is available within the Custard Factory complex.

The Nest

Address: The Custard Factory, Gibb Street, B9 4AA.
Access: A modern community and performance space with a wide, level street entrance. The interior is completely flat, making it easy to navigate between the different zones.
Facilities: A fully accessible toilet is available on-site. The space is bright and airy with large windows, supplemented by warm overhead lighting. Seating is flexible, using a mix of chairs with back support.
Assistance Dogs: Assistance dogs are very welcome and will find plenty of space to settle comfortably.
Transport: A 5-minute walk from Digbeth Coach Station and served by the 50 bus.
Parking: There is no on-site parking, but several private pay-and-display car parks are available nearby on High Street.

Address: 1 Corbett Street, B66 3PU.
Access: Access involves a small step at the entrance, for which our staff provide a mobile ramp. Once inside, the space is level but compact with standard overhead lighting.
Facilities: Seating is a mix of folding chairs.
Transport: Served by the 82 and 87 buses.
Parking: On-street parking is available nearby.

Odeon Broadway Plaza

Address: 220 Ladywood Middleway, B16 8LP.
Access: A modern, fully accessible cinema with lift access to all floors and level-access wheelchair spaces in all screens.
Facilities: Accessible toilets are available on-site. Seating consists of large, plush reclining or fixed cinema chairs.
Assistance Dogs: Welcome throughout the building.
Transport: Near Five Ways train station and local bus routes.
Parking: Large on-site car park with dedicated Blue Badge bays.

Pan-Pan

Address: 25D Floodgate St, B5 5SL.
Access: A street-level venue with a flat interior and plenty of space to move between tables.
Facilities: An accessible toilet is available on-site. Seating is a mix of bar-height and standard table seating.
Assistance Dogs: Welcome.
Transport: Located in central Digbeth, near the 50 bus route.
Parking: Nearby private pay-and-display lots.

Selly Manor (Main Hall)

Address: Maple Road, Bournville, B30 2AE.
Access: Step-free access to the ground floor and medieval hall is provided via permanent ramps. The historic stone and wood floors can be slightly uneven but are navigable for most wheelchairs. Please note the upper floors are stairs-only.
Facilities: An accessible toilet is available on-site. Lighting is low and atmospheric to suit the historic setting, and seating consists of sturdy wooden chairs.
Assistance Dogs: Welcome in both the manor and the surrounding garden.
Transport: A 10-minute walk from Bournville Station or served by the 11A, 11C, and 27 buses.
Parking: Free on-street parking is available nearby.

Victoria Jubilee Gardens

Address: High St, Digbeth, Birmingham B12 0LN.
Access: This is a hidden community green space with step-free access via the main gate. The main paths are generally firm, though the event areas are on grass, which can be uneven or soft in wet weather.
Facilities: There are no permanent toilets on-site. The environment is entirely natural daylight, and seating is limited to a few park benches. We often provide extra folding chairs for our events.
Assistance Dogs: A lovely open space for assistance dogs, though we ask that they stay on a lead to protect the community plants.
Transport: Centrally located in Digbeth, just a short walk from the 50 bus stop.
Parking: No dedicated parking; street parking or nearby pay-and-display lots are the best options.
