Invisible Women

Saturday 4th May, 2019

MAC Birmingham - Hexagon Theatre | 16:00 - 17:30

Newcastle/Mexico City-based archive activists Invisible Women seek out and champion the work of female filmmakers who have been overlooked, un-credited or left out of the history of cinema.

This selection of boundary-pushing films demonstrates how women have seized the imaginative possibilities offered by animation to create witty, warm and wildly inventive explorations of identity, authorship and desire. Includes rarely screened work by Vera Neubauer, Joanna Quinn, Thalma-Goldman Cohen, Veronika Soul and Caroline Leaf.
