un.procedure: In Movements (World Premiere)
This might be the most excited we’ve ever been for a festival opening event. In Movements has been in the works for some time, and we can’t wait to finally share it with you.
A brand new commission, this immersive audiovisual experience sees visual artist Guri Bosh and experimental electronic jazz trio un.procedure come together for a performance where architecture, cinema, and sound merge into shifting layers of light and motion. Inspired by the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts (the expo that spurned the term ‘Art Deco’) it presents a world where film and architecture evolved side by side, each influencing visions of the future.
Taking place in the incredible Dome space at the Bramall Music Building (an apt venue for an AV performance piece about modernist design), you can expect multiple projections, a large interactive zoetrope, and a brilliant live performance from one of Birmingham’s most exciting groups.
Stick around for post-performance drinks and experience the Dome's unique sonic ambiance as we kickstart 9 days of audiovisual buzz.
We’re incredibly grateful to the John Feeney Trust for their support in making this commission a reality.
