Whatever Pays the Rent presents... Mean Girls (20th Anniversary)

Wednesday 15th May, 2024

The Mockingbird Cinema - Screen 1 | 19:45 - 22:15

Lindsay Lohan’s homeschooled Cady goes up against “The Plastics”, an alpha female high school clique that is about to make Li-Lo’s school days very difficult indeed.

In its short 20 years, Mean Girls has generated 1000s of memes, inspired the “Is your muffin buttered?” line in Wet Leg’s Chaise Longue single and even has its own official day; October 3rd. Seriously, look it up.

Before the screening, join Whatever Pays the Rent in paying homage to the iconic chick flick by getting your polaroid taken at a high school inspired photo-station, and stick it on the DIY ‘Burn Board’.

Oh, and by the way, this event is happening on a Wednesday. On Wednesdays we wear pink.

Whatever Pays the Rent puts on various, immersive TV and film related events - from Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan meet-ups to a Succession Q&A - with hopes of promoting creativity, community and all their cult favourites.
