The first feature length documentary by musician, artist and founder of Finnish Fonal Records Sami Sänpäkkilä, The Goodiepal Equation follows Goodiepal (real name Kristian Parl Bjørn Vester), a Danish musician, performance artist, lecturer and activist operating on the fringes of society. Goodiepal rides thousands of kilometres on a self-built bicycle that he uses to power his shows, has released a record with a genuine 500-krone banknote embedded in the vinyl (priced at 250 kroner) and once put together an exhibition for the National Museum of Denmark comprising all his material possessions.

“Goodiepal explores the boundaries of society’s rules. He shatters the definitions of art in his works and actions. Goodiepal is by nature impenetrable, yet consistent. That is why people often either love him or hate him.” - Sami Sänpäkkilä

This event is part of Rock ‘n’ Docs, a series of music-related film and live performances happening at Coventry Canal Basin every Friday evening in August. If you’d like to start your evening early join Ludic Rooms for Roam + Dwell - free Friday afternoon sessions exploring the Canal Basin, sharing artist works-in-progress and inviting all to play, make and explore things afloat.

Rock ‘n’ Docs is presented by CineCov and The Tin Music and Arts in partnership with Coventry 2021’s Green Futures Programme.
