Dreamerfly, and Other Stories
A man falls asleep and dreams he is a butterfly. When he wakes, he is unsure whether he really was a man who had dreamed he was a butterfly or whether he was a butterfly now dreaming he was a man...
This ancient Chinese philosophy known as ‘The Butterfly Dream’ serves as inspiration for Dreamerfly, a 45-minute online & offline interdisciplinary performance combining multi-screen animation, and contemporary/jazz music, co-produced and directed by Shiyi Li, Gloria Yehilevsky and James Owston of Sounding Eye Collective.
We can't wait to bring Dreamerfly to MAC on 24 September for our Autumn Edition. (Book your tickets here).
In the meantime, take a behind the scenes look at the project...
“Dreamerfly began as a dream between a woman and a moth, trapped in a cocoon shaped multiverse. They wanted to struggle out of this space and peek at the secrets of the universe.”
