Flatpack Day 9 (29th)

Wednesday 20th March, 2013

DAY 9

Highlights:

Demdike Stare + Lee Gamble- A chance to witness live AV sets by Demdike Stare and Lee Gamble, two of the best electronic acts around. Expect VHS horror, fuzzed-out beauty, mangled jungle and a bit of throbbing bass. The night will also feature a DJ set from Nicholas Bullen. 21:00-02:00, Flatpack Palais- Custard Factory, £13/£11

The Bruce Lacey Experience- A film about "professor" Bruce Lacey, the sculptor, performer, filmmaker and generally "silly buggar". With co-director Nick Abrahams on hand to share his own Bruce Lacey experiences. 20:45-22:30, Custard Factory Theatre, £7/£5

Internation Space Orchestra- The idea behind the International Space Orchestra is simple, if implausible: to gather a group of space scientists with musical abilities to develop and perform Ground Control: An Opera in Space, reenacting the difficulties of mission control during Apollo 11. 20:30-22:15, The Electric, £7/£5

Sold Out:

Unfortunately Gangs of Digbeth has sold out, however you can head down to The Edge tomorrow to check out Brummies, Boozers and Bruisers. A free screening of archive footage and a discussion about gangs and underground Birmingham in the 1960s, 70s and 80s.
