Anne Wood in Conversation

When you think of classic kids TV, what springs to mind? Pob? In The Night Garden? The Teletubbies? Well, it might surprise you to know that we have one woman to thank for bringing these wonderful shows into our lives.

Anne Wood has been influencing kids TV in the UK since the 70s and is responcible for bringing Rag Doll Productions and the likes of The Moomins, Roland Rat any many many more to our screens.

As part of 'Anim18: A Celebration of British Animation', we are delighted to welcome Anne to MAC for a special conversation about her work, what has inspired her over the years and the power moving image has to build creative and confident children today.

Having grown up watching The Moomins and Rosie and Jim, I couldn't be more excited to hear some insight into the magical world of children's animation!

Club Integral West Midlands Branch: Flatpack Special

You may have noticed, we like a party here at Flatpack.

Shifting across Digbeth from their usual home at The Edge, this special Flatpack edition of Club Integral will be a right feast for the senses, including: avant-accompaniment to silent Japanese film by performance trio Kamura Obscura; a live score by Chloe Knibbs and Anna Olsson; and a new audiovisual outing by Matt Eaton (Micronormous, Pram). Plus Ubuntu Foods will be there selling delicious South African fare.

I'm definitely looking forward to these live accompaniments to a knees up with Club Integral.
