(dir. Buster Keaton) USA, 1924 – 45 mins
Vincent James Byrne will be giving a live organ accompaniment to Buster Keaton’s funny and ingenious Sherlock Jr.
Playing a film theatre projectionist and caretaker, Keaton enters into a battle for the affections of a beautiful girl. After his rival suitor leads the girls family to believe him a thief, the projectionist falls into a distressed slumber at the theatre. In his dreams he enters the film-world, and takes on the role of detective. The chaos that ensues is achieved by Keaton’s innovative editing, as he leaps from one world to the next.
The screening will be preceded by a silent short film.
