Silent Night II

Friday 6th December, 2013

St Philip's Cathedral | 19:30

After an unfeasibly cosy evening at the Cathedral last Christmas, with Paul Shallcross accompanying Buster Keaton and mulled wine fragrance wafting across the pews, it seemed daft not to do it again. So we return with Colmore Business District for Silent Night II, this time featuring live accompaniment from pianist John Sweeney (who you may remember from Flatpack opening night). On the big screen, a heavenly double-bill... Laurel and Hardy play Christmas tree salesmen with an outrageously aggressive sales pitch, in a perfect illustration of the duo's ability to create havoc from any given situation. Though best known for his clock-hanging antics, one of Harold Lloyd's finest moments came with this romantic slapstick romp about a weedy younger brother attempting to make a mark and win his sweetheart.

As if that weren't enough, the ticket price includes festive and non-festive refreshments courtesy of Change Kitchen. Advance booking is recommended!
