Doozy + Q&A

Saturday 4th May, 2019

Vivid Projects | 18:00 - 19:45

Older viewers will be familiar with the Hanna-Barbera cartoon The Perils of Penelope Pitstop, in which the eponymous heroine endured the nefarious schemes of moustache-twirling baddie the Hooded Claw.

Richard Squires' debut feature Doozy uses animated antihero Clovis to reenact the career of Paul Lynde - the snarky, unforgettable voice behind the Hooded Claw and other villains. Through a mixture of original animation and live action, this experimental doc explores the relationship between villainy and sexual ambiguity, actor and character. Followed by a Q&A with the director.

Presented in partnership with VIVID Projects.
