Another chance to see this brilliant 2009 animation, adapted by Wes Anderson from Roald Dahl’s tale of three nasty farmers and one gentleman thief. George Clooney heads a cast of voices including Meryl Streep and Bill Murray, and today we’ll be paying extra attention to the unique look of the film with the help of Chris Bowden.

Chris works at MacKinnon and Saunders, a company which builds puppets for all kinds of films and television programmes. They were responsible for making every single character you see in Fantastic Mr Fox, and because there are several versions of some characters they ended up making over 500 puppets for the film. Chris will talk about the journey from sketch to clay model to finished puppet, and the secret formula for realistic fox-fur.
