Movement takes center stage in this selection of screendance shorts, where the boundary between the body and the camera disappears.
From the exquisite riverbanks and ice floes of the St. Lawrence River in Quebec (Chantal Caron’s Somber Tides) to the high-velocity, urban energy of Emma Evelein’s Born Into You, these films explore how dance can transform space.
It’s a rhythmic journey that proves some stories are best told through the language of the limb rather than the lip.
