Calling all budding young animators and future filmmakers. Fancy having a go at your very own stop motion animation film and then seeing it on the big screen? Making your own animated short is a lot easier than you’d think, not to mention it’s a boatload of fun for all the family...

This July, Alfresco Film Company, Coventry City Council & Coombe Abbey Hotel are teaming up for an open air screening of Disney’s classic family adventure, The Jungle Book - and we want you to be part of the action.

You just need to follow these three easy steps:

  • Watch our online Stop Motion Animation tutorial below
  • Have a bash at your very own film using plasticine, toys or any bits from around the house
  • Send us your finished film by 5pm on Tuesday 29 June (full details on how to send below)

And we’ll show your film on the big screen before the main show - simple!

How to Send

Please send your film to submissions@flatpackfestival.org.uk by 5pm on Tuesday 29 June. Please ensure your film is no longer than 2 minutes, and include your full name and age when submitting. You will need to make sure the film is saved as an MP4 file, and as it’s likely to be a big file best to send it via WeTransfer or Filemail.

This event is part of CineCov, a year-long programme of screenings and events turning the whole of Coventry into a cinema for the city’s year as UK City of Culture. You can buy tickets to the screening on the Alfresco Film Company’s website.

CineCov is brought to you by Flatpack on behalf of Film Hub Midlands with support from the BFI using funds from the National Lottery.
